\"tse_0167\"<\/a>Regular visitors to this site may recall my involvement in St. Wilfrid’s Hospice Coastal Yacht Challenge last year. I shot the event again this year and, thanks to some excellent weather, was able to get more great pictures.<\/p>\n

I travel on the race marshal’s boat where I get the best view of the start and end of the race. We had a bit of drama this year, though. One of the race officials on our boat was taken ill with a suspected heart attack as we were heading for the start line and we had to divert to a nearby marina where we were met by an ambulance crew.<\/p>\n

The unfortunate official was taken away for more tests as we headed back to our route to the race start.<\/p>\n

I was later informed that he was recovering.<\/p>\n

In spite of being a man short, the officials got the race started on time and it ran smoothly with around forty boats taking part.<\/p>\n

All proceeds from picture sales go to St. Wilfrid’s Hospice and help with the running and administration of the home.<\/p>\n
