Thank you for showing an interest in Laptop Monday.
Let’s quickly clarify one thing: it isn’t always on a Monday.
It started out that way but the meetings have grown and evolved. It is now run in several locations and throughout the week. The name proudly proclaims its origins.
If you tend to work on your own a lot, you might miss the atmosphere of an office of people to discuss ideas with and quiz for help. Laptop Monday (LM) fills this void in your life. It’s structure-free co-working time you can use to refill your social reservoir without having to take time out of your work day.
Having said that, while you’re free to just buckle-down and get on with your work, you can expect occasional distractions because others may not be quite so industrious.
And that’s what it’s about.
If you need help, can offer help or want to discuss ideas then pipe up. If you don’t, then just do your thing.
There’s a form below.
Please enter your details and, optionally check the approaching events you’d like to attend. You will go on the mailing list for all future events and get specific details for the events you’ve selected.
You can return to this form at any time to review the approaching dates and register your interest for them.
The emails you receive will also include instructions for registering for each event that you want to attend. Registration is essential if you want to know where it will be.
GDPR and Privacy
I use Mailchimp to handle the mailing list. You won’t go on the list unless you subscribe and confirm your subscription. You can unsubscribe at any time and you won’t be bothered again. This list is used for no other purpose and isn’t shared with anyone.
The venue will change from meeting to meeting. It will be in and around Wokingham and Bracknell.
All venues will have:
- tables at comfortable working height;
- coffee, tea, snacks and, possibly, meals;
- free WiFi.
Most will have free parking.
The venue for the next meeting will be emailed only to those people who registered for that event. That email will go out the day before the event. This lets us manage numbers and helps the venue prepare.
The time will always be from 09:30 to 12:30 on the day published in the schedule.
You don’t have to enjoy the full 3 hours. Feel free to pop in when it suits you.
There is none. It’s free.
I know. Crazy!
Laptop Monday was started by Mark Harris for the reasons described above. He maintains a page on LinkedIn which tells you all about it. It also contains a schedule of all the LM events coming up so you can become a LM Tourist and see the world.
