The Newbury Rock School are hosting a very special event on Saturday, July 28 at The Waterside Centre in Newbury in honour and support of Chernobyl Children’s Life Line charity.
It’s an evening of live rock music featuring some local favourite bands, including the inspirational The Mini Band, New Device, The Jammin’ Dodgers and Tin Soldiers.
The charity exists to help kids from areas stricken by the disaster at Chernobyl and does it in a number of ways, one of which is to bring them to the UK for recuperation breaks where the relief from constant exposure to radiation can add months and maybe years to their lives.
A group of eight of these kids will be attending this event as their farewell party before they go back home.
Please click the link for more information on the charity. There is a Facebook page for this event here: Newbury Rock School’s Charity Rock Night for Chernobyl Children’s Life Line
The event kicks off at 17:00 and is free to enter but organisers would appreciate donations to support the charity.
I shall be there photographing the event.
I’ve photographed and blogged about The Mini Band several times before.
